Job Description

I have an exciting and rare opportunity for a Support Worker in a well-established Children's Residential Unit for girls who exhibit behavioural, social and emotional difficulties in Southampton, Hampshire.

You will be working as part of a committed team to provide a safe, caring and stable environment for the young people. Whilst maintaining a respectful culture in the home where the young people are encouraged to develop and achieve their full potential.

Day-to-Day duties will include;
- Report to the Registered Manager
-Undertake supportive tasks and duties
-Promote appropriate activities within both the home and out in the community
-Be alert to signs of distress or abuse
-Ensure the young people are monitored and protected
-Work as part of a team
-Effectively deal with Challenging Behaviours when they arise

Candidate Requirements;
-Experience working within Residential Services, in any setting
-Experience working with Challenging Behaviours, in any setting
-NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children's and Young People's Workforce OR willing to work towards one
-Have a Full Manual Driving Licence

This is for a full time position working 37.5 hours a week.
You will be expected to work one day every other weekend.

The shift patterns will run from 7.30AM-10.30PM and also you will be expected to do up to 2 sleep ins a week paid at the additional £70

Salary; £17,000-£20,000 (with 2 Sleep Ins a week £24,280-£27,280)
