The role of a children`s residential support worker can be hard and difficult at times however it is the most rewarding career when you know that you`ve made an impact on that child`s life and future!

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and making a positive impact on their lives. You will need to have an open mind and be able to support children who may act out and present you with challenging behaviour. Therefore, previous experience supporting children with EBD or challenging behaviour would be helpful.

To be successful in this role you will ideally hold the QCF Level 3 in Supporting Children and Young People.
OR
You will have a wealth of relevant work experience and be working or willing to work towards a formal childcare qualification. Experience working with children in either a residential setting, outreach, community work, youth work or Pupil referral Unit settings would be beneficial to the RSW role

Have experience in SEND education, adult's mental health or adults learning disabilities settings.

You will work 169 hours per month, and these will be long days so will include sleeps. You will complete a max of 8-10 sleeps per month and work a rota that will be either 1 on and 2 off OR 4 on and 4 off. Your shifts will start around 7am and 8am.

For your support and commitment, you will be paid a salary of £ 18.252 (£9.00) to £ 19 549 (£9.64) a year plus a generous SLEEP IN ALLOWANCE OF £30.00 per sleep adding an extra £3600 to your salary. You will also get holiday allowance and pension plan. As well as career development and the opportunity to complete your QCF Level 3 if you haven`t already got this.

Don`t miss out on working for an organisation that values its staff and puts the needs of the children in their care at the heart of what they do! Apply today or call Carina in our Birmingham Care office on 0121 480 8217
