Job Description

**Supporting Children and Young People in a Residential Setting**
**Beautiful Countryside Location**
**£8.20 - £9.00 per hour** Flexible Working Hours**
**Ongoing Temporary Positions and Temp To Perm Opportunity**

I am working with a fantastic children residential service in the Corby area. They have recently joined forces with a national organisation and have invested in a refurbishment of the home, as well as training plans for new team members. They run a tight ship are currently supporting 2 young people who have been there several months and are nicely settled, with a view of a new young person joining them over the next couple of months.

I'm looking for a bit of a chameleon, a Support Worker who has a knack for communicating effectively with young people, understands the importance of the support they are providing and has a solid understanding of what this involves. I need someone that is resilient, has the initiative to help out around the home, engage in activities with the young people and help to create a positive, comforting and stable environment.

You`ll be engaging in activities with the young people, encouraging their independence and encouraging them to take responsibility e.g. in tidying their rooms. You will also support with general housekeeping around the home, ensuring that the cleaning, laundry and cooking is done. You`ll be encouraging the young people to get involved with these tasks where appropriate. My client is looking for someone that will take a proactive role within the house and actively engage with the young people, building a positive relationship with them.

You must have at least 12 months current experience in care. You will need to have professional experience working with children in a supportive environment, ideally within a residential setting.

Restraint training is essential. An NVQ Level 3 in working with Children and Young People is highly desirable.

You will need to have a current DBS registered to the online service. If you don`t have this, I can support in getting one.

As this is ongoing temporary work, the hours can be flexible to fit around your other commitments. The more availability you give me however, the more work I can get you.

£8.20-£9.00 per hour + Benefits

If this sounds like something you`d love to be a part of, or you`re looking to grow your experience working with Children and Young People, I`d love to hear from you.
