Residential Support Worker - Children and Young People

📍 Location: Steeton
Hours: 8am - 10pm | 1 on, 2 off with 5 sleep-ins per month (£85 per sleep)
🏠 Setting: 3-bed residential home
💷 Salary: £12.75 - £12.90 per hour (rising to £13.25 after probation)
Annual Salary Equivalent: £28,578 - £29,225

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Residential Support Worker to join our growing team in Steeton. This role is based in a beautifully renovated 3-bed home that provides high-quality, person-centred care to some of the most vulnerable children.

This is a chance to join a supportive, driven, and compassionate team that works tirelessly to provide a safe, nurturing environment that helps children thrive.


What You'll Bring:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working within a residential children's home.

  • A full manual UK driving licence.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • QCF Level 3 / 4 in Residential Childcare or NVQ3 Children & Young People (or equivalent).

More important than qualifications alone is your attitude and commitment to improving children's lives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and protect the safety and well-being of young people.

  • Support evening and nighttime routines as outlined in care plans.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with young people.

  • Complete safety checks and domestic duties during your shift.

  • Act as a key worker, contributing to care planning and reporting.

  • Encourage and support children's social, emotional, and behavioural development.

  • Ensure all medical needs are met and documented.

  • Attend relevant meetings and training as required.
