Job Description

An exciting new role has opened within a government department. The successful candidates will liaise and engage with 2 to 3 Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) and will be preparing them for all types of incidents. Working at a tactical level support the strategic Resilience Advisor. This will include helping develop local and national resilience plans, providing expertise and liaison during emergencies and recoveries afterwards. One example of an emergency would be flooding, and the successful candidate would help the local forum be prepared for this emergency.

Other responsibilities include

- Engaging and building relationships with LRF coordinator and other key agencies

- Leading on development and maintenance of information products that can be used by others in the department

- Significantly contributing to the development of policy. Specifically, developing emerging policy thinking, both your own expertise, and that of the LRFs

- During a response you will act as a Government Liaison Officer at Tactical and Strategic Co-ordination Group Meetings and lead 1:1 engagement with LRF stakeholders. While you may have to assume other roles in an emergency, GLO would be your primary role in response.

- When required you will represent the Resilience and Emergencies Division as a Recovery Liasion Officer, at strategic Recovery Coordination Groups.

Please note when applying for this role occasionally operational requirements determine the need for shift work and duty cover, including working after 8pm and at weekends. However, this will be paid at overtime rates.
