Resource Technician - £25k to £28k DOE

Brook Street are very happy to be working with as one of the largest and most trusted apprenticeship training providers in Hampshire with a proven track record spanning over 40 years.

Our client is looking for an Engineering Instructor / Resource Technician to join their Engineering Training Centre and provide a high quality engineering training programme to young learners, apprentices and corporate clients.

Who's right for the job?

You will be an experienced Machinist who has a passion to impart their knowledge and experience to the machining engineers of tomorrow. Ideally you will have previous experience in a supervisory role, possess excellent written and communication skills and enjoy working in a learning environment.

The role entails teaching, coaching and mentoring young learners undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in the use of Lathes, Mills and CNC along with computer aided design.

Ideally you will possess a teaching and/or assessing qualification but this is not essential as the necessary training will be provided to the applicant with the right qualities.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be requested to undertake a DBS (formerly CRB) check.

Must-haves:

• Strong Engineering background and experience of operating CNC/CAD Lathes, Mills and Machinery
• Vocational qualification in CNC/CAD - Level 3 Engineering Qualification
• Good communication, Professional image and excellent presentation skills
• Experience of working with young people
• Full driving licence and use of own car

Desirable:

• Good understanding of apprenticeship standards and frameworks
• Teaching/Assessor qualifications

What's in it for you?

In return for your hard work our client offers a competitive salary of between £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience. The hours will be 37.5 per week (Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm). In addition you will receive training to become a qualified instructor, free on-site parking, 26 days holiday + bank holidays, life insurance, company pension plan, childcare voucher schemes and excellent training and development programmes.

Local travel is involved so a car is necessary for which a business travel allowance will be paid (currently at 40p per mile).
