Main roles and responsibilities:
-Responding swiftly to Customer emails and telephone calls, understanding shipment requirements and how you can provide solutions.
-Liaising and negotiating with Suppliers to find real time express freight options at optimal market prices and using your persuasive personality and desire to win against the competition to sell these at the most favourable rates for all parties.
-You will be an active team member in a fast moving environment, providing excellent Customer Service by building relationships with new and existing Customers to secure potential and repeat business
-You will accurately assess the Customer`s quote, `foot-print` loads, paying particular attention to detail with regard to load specifics in order to determine the correct vehicle, location and transit time required.
-You will source available vehicles from European and UK Suppliers and maintain a database of these vehicles while also being aware of other team member`s requirements and working together when necessary to achieve the best solutions.
-Using your negotiating skills you will secure the very best price for transport while building lasting professional relationships with Suppliers to ensure mutual benefits.
-Fast and accurate computer input of shipment details and attention to details.
-Liaising with internal Monitoring team and Management. Success in the role may lead to potential visits to clients both in UK and Europe.
-when on call during weekend, this will include monitoring emails and texts, responding to requests for quotes, liaising with clients and suppliers, booking transport and updating in-house transport systems. (Mobile phone and laptop supplied).
