Job Description
*** SEEKING EXPERIENCED AUTOMOTIVE SALES MANAGER ***
Sales Manager role with an Inverness based Automotive Sales Business
Within this role you will manage the Sales Team, with responsibility for organising all activities within the Sales Department, ensuring efficiency and profitability. The will provide support to the General Manager and deputise in their absence. They will also work closely with the workshop team, where required.
The role will involve:
To maximise profitability and commercial opportunity across all vehicle sales activities
Maintain a regular review of the company`s vehicle stocking plan arrangements
Set sales targets for the sales team, monitor progress against these targets
Line manage the sales team and conduct regular appraisals, providing support, motivation and training
Assist the sales team staff as and when required during busy periods, supporting activities such as vehicle appraisals, preparation of sales particulars, vehicle handovers and sourcing of vehicles
Provide sales team staff cover during holidays and absence
Report sales performance to the Directors monthly
Identify opportunities for the purchase of vehicles for retail sale
Identify opportunities for retail product promotion and communicate and market these to customers
Market and network the business and identify partnership opportunities
Develop product packs/sales bundles for customers purchasing a vehicle, providing opportunities for cross sales and additional profitability
Attend trade shows and provide representation on manufacturer stands/exhibits
Ensure all sales vehicles are advertised as widely as possible, exploring any new opportunities to broaden the company`s advertising reach
Work with the whole team to provide after sales care to customers who have purchased a vehicle and proactively seek feedback and comment in order to enhance the company`s services
Become an expert in all products offered by the business including specifications, standard equipment, pricing, options, warranties and colours
Maintain an extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the leisure vehicle industry
Oversee timely and accurate completion of all relevant vehicle sales documentation, including purchase agreements, finance applications (where appropriate), DVLA forms
Identify and plan campaigns and promotions to maximise vehicle and retail sales, including a digital strategy
Work closely with other departments, providing assistance where needed to enable the small team to function well
Develop relationships with external suppliers and partners, identifying opportunities to expand the business
Identify new opportunities to promote the company
Provide an exceptional service throughout the sales process so all customer expectations are met and exceeded.
Remain calm under pressure, reacting well to change and staying positive despite setbacks
Essential Skills:
Experience in team management
Experience in a sales environment; excellent negotiating and closing skills; plenty of enthusiasm and self-motivation
A strong motivation to achieve sales targets; an excellent eye for detail; first class administration and IT skills
A good eye for figures; excellent listening and verbal communication skills;
an understanding of general business acumen
A full and valid UK driving licence
Desirable Skills
Previous experience in the Automotive trade
Additional Information
Hours of work: Based on a 36-hour week with occasional weekends. Flexibility will be required during busy periods throughout the year
You will be required to attend trade shows on behalf of the business
You will not be expected to work more than the allocated hours of contract
Salary negotiable/based on experience
