Job Description
My client is a small and privately owned set of luxury self-catering experience that combines the service and quality of a boutique hotel with the freedom and privacy of apartment living
Their stylish and well-appointed contemporary apart-hotels are a hidden gem for business travellers and leisure guests who expect that little bit more from their accommodation
In this role, you would be looking after 2 locations one in York and one in Harrogate
With a diverse mix of business depending on location, this is an exciting dual location role with key involvement in transient, corporate and group business
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Proactively planning and executing sales activity including research, telesales, site show rounds and client roadshows
- Driving total account management and sales from the negotiated corporate market, including negotiated transient, group corporate and meeting & events
- Developing new business and growing profitability through your individual sales performance
- Working effortlessly to identify new market opportunities
- Produce a detailed day by day monthly rooms forecast within a tolerance level of 3-5% accuracy on a weekly basis for review
- Ensure rates are available at an appropriate level, across all relevant distribution channels / systems based on detailed analysis
- Utilise all tools / opportunities to ensure maximum yield
- Own rate parity and ensure that parity is maintained across all public distribution channels
- Ensure all rates are loaded and maintained to meet required deadlines and with commercial urgency
- Set a presence on Social Media sites and actively grow it
- Directly manage the property groups / Conferencing resources where applicable ensuring appropriate guidance is given to allow optimal revenue to be delivered
- Support the development of on properties in all aspects of Revenue Management
- Work and build relationships with the major local and online bookers either in the area or bringing business in to the area
Areas of Accountability:
- Relentlessly identify areas of opportunities and risks within Revenue that add value to performance
- Oversee performance and efficiency, ensuring every single revenue line is being optimised
- Work closely with the Reception & Reservations Teams to maximise reservations and revenue The Successful candidate should have
- A track record of sales achievements with at least 2 years' experience in the service and hospitality industry is essential for this role
- You will have strong strategic planning skills, ability to look ahead and strategies in place to support the plans
- A degree of knowledge of all market segments i.e. corporate, conference
- It is essential that you can work well under pressure, with minimal supervision and maintain high standards and attention to detail
- Microsoft package skills and boking systems knowledge
- Demonstrates relevant functional experience and good knowledge of Experience in supporting team members to develop
- Be a consistent and curious learner and demonstrate consideration for the needs of others as well as the needs of the business
- Be an effective communicator who influences through a range of media: face-to-face, e-mail, virtual, phone and social media platforms
- Have a collaborative and win-win approach
- Be flexible to travel
- Currently, or have previously worked within a Hotel Sales Manager role / Revenue role
- Have strong account management, strategic and organisational skills
- Have experience of negotiating and contracting
- Be a competent user of full Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and database management
