Job Description

Job title: School Engagement & Marketing Officer

Salary: £19-£20k per annum
Location: Workington
Contract: Permanent contract, full time
Duties and Responsibilities

School Engagement
o Development of strong working relationships with schools and careers advisors, providing information, advice and guidance and arranging school engagement opportunities.
o Taking a lead role in providing school engagement (incl. school talks, interview skills, careers fairs and other school engagement opportunities) across Cumbrian schools
o Maintaining a strong knowledge of student offerings and developing associated marketing material
o Maintenance of school database and events calendar and development of KPI reports regarding school engagement activities.
o Continued development of tools and materials to ensure impactful engagement.

Marketing
o Writing, designing and production of corporate literature, including case studies, company templates, products brochures, etc. in both physical and digital mediums.
o Utilising both traditional and digital marketing mediums to ensure that the training is effectively represented in all mediums to promote the brand and succeeds in raising sufficient learner and customer engagement across all areas of the operation.
o Using digital marketing mediums effectively to ensure that the organisation remains at the forefront in these mediums and is making best use of these technologies to reach our target audience. Technologies will include, but not be limited to, their internal website, Facebook page, Twitter and Linked-In. Providing an active monitoring service and liaising with relevant staff to respond in a timely manner via these mediums.
o Continual development of the internal website on a daily basis and ensuring that the content remains current and relevant.
o Working with subject experts to develop commercial tender submissions
o Playing an active role in marketing events - including event planning, organising suppliers and event team, supervising the event.
o Sourcing and maintaining relevant stocks to support marketing activities such as event banner stands, literature and giveaways.
o Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Marketing Manager.

Requirements

o Excellent communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal
o Excellent customer facing skills and confidence engaging the public
o A flexible approach to working, including outside normal business hours to fulfil the engagement role.
o Good administrative and organisation skills and attention to detail
o A proven ability to engage and present information.
o Competence with business IT systems and has an enjoyment for this type of work. Use of Microsoft Office is essential, and some flair for literature design and the use of graphics would be a benefit.
o Familiarity and an understanding of social networking products such as Facebook, Linked-In and Twitter. There will be a need to perform updates and uploads to the web site using a content management system.
