Brook Street are are delighted to be working with a long established, highly regarded, small accountancy practice that is based in North Bristol.

The successful candidate will be joining as a key addition in a Senior Accountant - Accounts / Tax based role. You will carve a key role within the team undertaking a hands on role. You will undertake both hands on preparation and review of accounts production for wide ranging sole traders and partnerships, but with a significant focus on limited companies for SME clients. You will also be responsible for hands on productions and review of taxation work across personal and corporate tax.

You will also oversee VAT Returns and bookkeeping services as well as helping and advising clients, using the wide variety of accounting software that is now widely available.

Main Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of accounts, corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Managing a portfolio of clients and maintaining accounting records
• Dealing with client queries
• An element of general bookkeeping for some clients

Skills & Experience:

Ideally, we are looking for a qualified or part-qualified Accountant, but candidates with experience working in an accountancy practice environment will be considered as qualified by experience. Experience in UK Accountancy Practice.

Essential skills and qualifications are:

• AAT part or fully qualified
• Experience with Xero/Quickbooks/Sage
• Experience of IRIS an advantage
