The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, with travel to The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford

Duration

Approx 6 months



As a member of the Strategy and Planning Directorate, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will contribute to the continuous improvement of business intelligence and insights to meet the developing needs of the Trust's key internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Business Intelligence and be responsible for:

" Using excellent data management and analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement, mitigate risks and issues and support high quality decision-making. Working closely with senior leaders and clinical staff to increase understanding and to support the development of solutions that address organisational issues and opportunities
" Utilising predictive analytics and artificial intelligence to proactively assess new potential opportunities
" Leveraging care record data to increase business knowledge of population/patient needs and to support the future development of population health management capabilities

Key Accountabilities

" Support the development of the organisation's analytical, data modelling, predictive analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities to improve problem/opportunity diagnosis, to support the development of organisational insights and to develop robust plans that address issues and opportunities
" Work collaboratively with senior colleagues to ensure proposed business changes demonstrably align with the Trust's strategic direction and incorporate robust measures of benefit realisation
" Undertake complex ad-hoc insight analysis in areas defined by the Head of Business Intelligence. This will involve managing potentially contradictory and complex data to ascertain a credible, easily understandable position.
" Deliver high quality, concise and informative briefings to a range of internal audiences as and when required. This may include presenting complex or contentious information and explaining this to an internal audience.
" Support the Head of Business Intelligence in reinforcing the value and importance of data analytics to senior management and staff. Promote and sell the value of high quality business intelligence to internal and external customers
" Self-motivated and resilient with the ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions
" Act as a positive advocate, networking where possible to forge positive relationships that enhance the reputation of the organisation
" Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with external stakeholders and agencies such as the CCGs, Public Health, Local Authorities, Health Observatories and the Health and Social Care Information Centre.
