Job Description

NHS Digital
Mon-Fri 9-5pm £10.83 rising to £12.38 after 12 weeks

The delivery of responsive, transparent and resilient services, operating to the highest standards, is critical to the success of NHS Digital in fulfilling its role within the health and social care system. NHS Digital Business and Operational Delivery profession (B&OD) ensures that customers get the services they need, delivered in the most effective and efficient ways possible to agreed quality standards, in order to reduce burden and increase value added activity.

The Senior Business and Operational Delivery Administrator is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and administering a range of key operational activities to support an HSCIC business function to agreed quality and service standards. The post holder is expected to take the lead at a senior administrative level and make decisions within a pre-defined scope based on an agreed set of criteria. The role requires significant interaction with NHS Digital internal and external customers and the post holder will represent the business area and/or function in communications, meetings and presentations with or to customers, customer groups and external stakeholders.

  • Good working knowledge and experience of databases
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, with experience of making use of their wider functionality (e.g. formulae)

  • Very good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to choose content and style to suit the audience
  • Able to work within a team under guidance from senior colleagues, able to work on own initiative as well as a member of a team
  • Able to communicate effectively with both external and internal customers and colleagues to understand the work required and present or explain work completed
  • Experience of working on projects to deliver quality outcomes to deadline and identifying risks

Tasks

  • Manage own time and resources to ensure the successful delivery of the data collections assigned to the individual.
  • Engage and liaise with customers, i.e. data submitter's and key stakeholders, to fulfil requirements of a collection and help secure the delivery of data collections to agreed deadlines and quality
  • Ensure data collection deadlines are adhered to and agree a contingency strategy in the event that is not possible
  • Deal with data/system queries in a quick and efficient manner to support the service and ensure submissions are made both on time and meeting the expected data quality validation checks
  • Take ownership of queries or issues with a collection and ensure they are resolved, whilst contributing to the ongoing improvements of the data collection process
  • Ensure data outputs are passed to the relevant teams/data collection owner by agreed deadlines
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues and queries to ensure that the data provided to analytical teams is robust and accurate
