Senior Childrens residential support worker

Hours: Full time permanent 37.5hrs
Required to be available for a variety of shift patterns including sleep ins.

This residential service is home to 4 males aged between 12-18. These young people enjoy a variety of different activities as well as spending time listening and talking to support workers who build a trusted and reliable relationship with each of the service users. The males in this service experience aggression issues and some behavioural problems regularly occur; support workers must be experienced to handle these situations quickly and effectively. Staying calm in pressurised situations is a must.
As a senior support worker you must show qualities that allow you to delegate a team in an effective way as well as organising and coordinating the everyday running of the service.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
" Demonstrate an understanding of complex needs such as autism/LD/behaviour
" At least 6 months experience in a children's residential setting or similar
" Able to work a variety of shift patterns
" Excellent communication skills
