Job Description

Senior Childrens residential support worker
Location: Sycamores, Leverington, Wisbech
Salary: £23,524- £24,741
Drivers essential

Hours: Full time permanent 37.5hrs
Required to be available for a variety of shift patterns including sleep ins.

Here at Brook street social care we present this exciting career opportunity as we work in partnership with one of our leading clients.

This 4 bed residential service is home to 2 males aged between 12-14. These young people enjoy a variety of different activities as well as spending time listening and talking to support workers who build a trusted and reliable relationship with each of the service users. There are some challenging behaviours in this service, support workers must be experienced to handle these situations and to be calm collective and understanding.

Responsibilities
o You will take a child-centred approach in providing high quality care that will enable
each young person to grow and develop healthily.
o You will implement and maintain clear and consistent boundaries necessary for the
creation of a safe and secure environment necessary for each young person to
flourish.
o As the provision of high-quality childcare requires team work, you will need to be an
active and willing participant in all team activities (i.e. weekly team meeting, training,
etc).
o To contribute to the normal development of the young people through the provision of
a healthy lifestyle, a variety of appropriate activities and a consistent caring adult role
model.
o Talk and listen to young people, monitoring their behaviour and recording significant
features.

Support of Staff:
o Ensure the day-to-day management is facilitated in a professional and competent
manner.
o To promote professionalism and standards to the team in line with policy and
procedures.
o Participate in regular staff meetings which are informative, produce action and are
minuted.
o Provide support to the Service Manager and cover in the manager's absence and
annual leave.
o To work in accordance with Keys Group policies and procedures.
o To report to a manager/regional or other appropriate person, malpractice, suspicions
or evidence which may suggest it.
