Job Description

On behalf of my Aberdeen based client I am seeking to fill a SENIOR CONVEYANCING PARALEGAL role for their busy City Centre office.

(In order to qualify for this role, it is asked that you have previously worked with a law firm in a paralegal role for at least five years and desirable that you have a professional paralegal qualification)

This is a permanent position, on a full-time basis and will include homeworking. The salary package is £33-45k based on experience. Other incentives include a bonus scheme, 28 days annual leave plus 7 days public holidays, contributory pension scheme, recruit a friend, opportunity spotting reward scheme.

The role will involve all conveyancing formalities with regard to sale, purchase and private re-mortgage transactions. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team and ensure compliance with the firm`s compliance procedures and the Law Society of Scotland.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
Minimum of 5 years` experience of the Scottish conveyancing process
Experience in dealing with 20+ conveyances a month
Experience in dealing with a conveyancing case management system
Knowledge of conveyancing procedures
Ability to draft legal documentation
Ability to draft statements of accounting
Prioritising workload and the ability to meet strict deadlines
Excellent level of communication skills
Time management

Key responsibilities include:
Communicating with banks, companies and other persons in relation to the conveyancing transactions
Taking instructions from clients
Protecting clients` interest, at all times, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering
Drafting, collating and sending supporting legal and financial documents
Dealing with financial aspects of a transaction
Receiving and checking mortgage instructions from lenders and undertaking specific tasks
Dealing with conveyancing transaction from inception to completion
Registration timeously of deeds
" Completing compliance requests and exercises in relation to transactions
Anticipated case load minimum of 40 transactions per month
