Senior customs compliance officer.

We have a unique and exciting opportunity attracting a senior specialist from a compliance and customs background. This is a senior position, therefore the package on offer is extremely appealing.

You will report to the company Director, with one primary function, to support both compliance and customs activities across the company.

The desired candidate will have the principal goal to improve quality within this transport and logistics business. A passion for health and safety, along with a commitment to environmental sustainability.

So what does the day to day entail and what are the key tasks of your new role..?

o Internal auditing of the groups customs activity.
o Training internal staff in all aspects of customs compliance and software.
o Participating in HMRC/UKBF audits/visits.
o Performing security audits.
o Advising clients on matters of customs compliance classification and licensing etc.
o Excise movement guarantee monitoring.
o Denied party screenings.

So what skills, competencies, abilities and experience should you ideally have..?

o Three years of experience in a recent and similar position.
o Manual handling.
o H&S for managers.
o Environment for managers.
o Hazard awareness.
o Management development.
o Forwarding, e.g. MIFF or similar.
o Strategic planning.
o Finance skills
o Motivational and leadership skills
