Job Description

Senior HR Advisor
Wellingborough, Darby House - very flexible home working
Monday to Friday 37 hours
£30,711 to £33,627 per annum
Permanent

You will be joining during a busy and exciting time within the HR team and the police as whole as they move into more forward-thinking approaches in the world of work. In the post you will also be working with the fire and rescue department so there will be many opportunities to gain new experience. This role will mostly be focused on making you a specialist in pay, pensions and employee benefits for the force and fire department. Good knowledge within employment legislation would be advantageous to the post.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  1. Qualified to Associate level and working towards Chartered Membership with HR experience, and can demonstrate the ability to apply Human Resource policies and best practice.
  2. Knowledge of relevant HR policies, procedures and best practice both within the Police Service and within the profession and a good level of knowledge of employment legislation.
  3. Experience of providing advice and support to Managers in a highly pressurised, fast moving operational environment with key organisation delivery and customer focused environment.
  4. A confident communicator, with both verbal and written skills with a personable, professional manner and the ability to interact and relate to all levels of staff and build strong working relationships.
  5. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of personal resilience, confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with all issues.
  6. A team player who demonstrates flexibility and the ability to work in a changing environment, responding to different demands.
  7. Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and the spread of employee reactions.
  8. Energy and enthusiasm, results oriented with the ability to deliver to deadlines.
  9. Good level of Computer skills commensurate with the level of the role with the ability to analyse and interpret HR data.
  10. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a deep professional commitment of awareness of equality issues appropriate to this role.
  11. To demonstrate the understanding of the importance of wellbeing within an organisation seeking to develop options for implementation to encourage a healthy workforce and work life balance
  12. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to travel throughout the Force for business purposes (reasonable adjustments considered under the Equality Act 2010).

You will be required to provide three years worth of references and pass a police vetting check before you start this role. The vetting process takes approx 4-6 weeks.
