Job Description

My client is a Worldwide Insurance Company.

The role will be:
To support the UK / RoI Head of Legal & Compliance in safeguarding the Company's financial and reputational performance by mitigating our risk through ensuring that the services provided by our suppliers and those that we have committed to provide to our clients are clearly documented and time-lined to protect our position.
Act as a trusted business partner internal clients and offer well thought out and clear legal advice relating to local BU and wider regional and group projects when required.
To support the Company's with regard to Regulatory and internal Compliance standards and rules and co-ordinate and monitor the Compliance Programmes to support the Solvency II implementation and ethical working practices.
To implement the Regional and Group guidelines at a local level


Desirable skills & experience
" Postgraduate law degree
" Experience of working within global organisation within a matrix environment or within a global insurance/assistance company/industry.
" Intellectual property law / property law
" IDD / ICOB and FCA handbook relating to insurance
" Basic knowledge of the Irish regulatory environment / CBI
" GDPR

Essential:

Education, Training, Qualifications:
" Undergraduate law degree or equivalent;
" Legal Training e.g. Legal Practice course.
" Qualified solicitor or barrister (England and Wales)

Specialist Skills & Knowledge:

Legal
" Strong Drafting, advising on and negotiating range of commercial contracts
" Providing legal advice to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
" Preparing policy or technical documentation with legal content
" Company law / Corporate Governance
" Ability to negotiate and influence senior stakeholders when required
" Understanding Corporate Insurances
" Working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (low value litigation)
Compliance
" Working knowledge of the FCA regulatory environment / TCF
" Understanding of the following subject matter:
Fraud / Corruption
Data Protection

Competition / Anti- Trust

" Ability to develop and deliver training on relevant legal & compliance topics
