Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a interpersonal and resilient Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to lead and manage team to provide high volume low intensity evidence based psychological interventions at HMP Preston, HMP Lancaster and HMP Kirkham.

As the Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will deal with referrals via agreed protocols within the service and make decisions on suitability of new referrals, you will provide assessment and Low intensity interventions e.g. psycho-educational interventions, Guided Self Help, CBT theories and techniques. You will also complete person-centered interviews identifying areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.

The ideal candidate will be resilient, have interpersonal skills and previous prison experience would be desirable.

To be considered you must have successfully completed an academic course of study in line with the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and be qualified as a PWP (e.g. Post Grad Diploma in Psychological Therapies) and have knowledge of assessment procedures, screening, referral, record-keeping and evidence-based brief psychological interventions.

This is a full-time position with a salary of between £28,050 to £36,644 dependent on experience in addition to specialist training, progression and career development.
