The company:
A firm of Development Managers, Cost Managers and Project Managers based centrally in the UK who have extensive experience of the Infrastructure, Residential and Commercial construction markets.
Our experience working on large-scale strategic residential and employment sites, combined with our in-depth knowledge of infrastructure planning, phasing and delivery, allows us to provide both landowners and developers with a solution to their serviced land and development requirements.
They pride themselves in delivering a high quality, client-focused service and aim to exceed the expectations of our clients through effective and efficient management of their projects.

Job Purpose
o To provide Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services on behalf of the company to a high standard and to the requirements set out within the Company's appointments with its Clients.
o To be responsible and accountable for Cost Management duties as set out below
o To report back to your line manager on a regular basis
Duties & Responsibilities

General duties:
o To measure and cost construction works for cost plans and bills of quantities
o To attend project meetings and provide advice to Clients on commercial matters of projects that are allocated to the individual
o To create reports suitable for presentation to Clients
o To work diligently and carefully at all times
o To manage workload requirements and ensure that key deadlines are met
o To manage Client relationships and work with Associate/Director to ensure all future opportunities are maximised
Specifically:

o To produce & manage serviced land budgets & cost plans for developers/land owners/land agents etc.
o To deliver pre-contract cost management services for both civil engineering and building projects (e.g. production of estimates, tender documents, tender reports, contract documents etc.)
o To deliver post-contract cost management services for both civil engineering and building projects (e.g. financial reports, interim valuations, negotiation of changes and final accounts)
o To provide the commercial lead for services provided as part of land valuation/land deductible cost assessments (e.g. analysing submitted costs and providing recommendations to the Client)

Any other duties that may be required by your Manager or the Company, providing you have been adequately trained to execute them. These duties may be required from time to time or on a permanent basis.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
o Experience in providing quantity surveying services on high value construction projects (£100k to £5,000,000)
o Excellent communication skills, both internally and with Clients
o Excellent organisation skills with an attention to detail and ability to multi task
o High level of computer literacy
o Good understanding of industry recognised construction contracts (NEC, ICC and JCT)
o Good understanding of procurement routes associated with construction projects
o Ability to manage relationships effectively with clients and colleagues
o A proactive approach to achieving results
Desirable:

o Appreciation for professional fee agreements and how fees are structured on projects
o Appreciation of the appointment documents and the services that The company are responsible for delivering.
o RICS accredited
o Previous experience of demonstrating excellent client/customer relations
o Excellent interpersonal skills around influencing and negotiating
