Senior Residential Childcare Worker

Oldham

Full time 39hours a week

18,720 - 20,592 plus £40 per sleep


Are you an experienced children`s residential worker looking to take the next step in your career? Do you hold a level 3 qualification in children`s and young people? Do you drive and have access to your own vehicle? If so we want to hear from you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior residential childcare worker to join a fantastic team in Oldham. The home is for children with emotional behavioural disorders (EBD). Due to the nature of this role it is essential that you have a minimum of 1 years` experience of working in a children`s residential setting.

You will be motivating a team of dedicated residential children`s workers, assisting and doing the safe implementation of rotas and care plans. No two days will be the same, one day you may be attending and planning for meetings for a child, another you may be assisting the managers in budgets and record keeping.

You will be expected to be a positive role model and active within the home, encouraging the children to actively engage with the regime. You will be working flexibly on a three week rolling rota which will include some sleep ins, long days and weekend working.

There are some essential criteria for this role, you must be a driver, have a level 3 in children and young people and you must have worked in a children`s residential setting for at least a year. It would also be advantageous for you to have a managerial qualification or team leading experience in the care sector.

This is an exciting and dynamic role, one which is very rewarding and challenging so the ideal candidate must be resilient and an effective problem-solver but most of all must be fun and have a great sense of humour to get along with the children and your team! You will also need to have effective communication techniques and be able to use basic IT packages. So if you are willing to learn and flexible in your working approach this is the role for you!
