Job Description

SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER (Home Based)

LOCATION: North East

SALARY: £32100 - £34500

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Worker for a respected and well-known organisation based in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area.

You will be responsible for the professional leadership and management of service delivery within the regional personal welfare team, directly delivering services for beneficiaries alongside supervising social work assistants to provide support to elderly clients and their dependants.  The role also involves promoting the service locally and developing partnerships with other agencies.

The role will involve but not limited to:

Lead and manage the region's personal welfare team to provide a high quality professional, outcomes-focused service for clients and their dependants.

Ensure the effective management of casework across the team including case allocation and case management.

Drive service performance and improvement, monitoring efficiency and effectiveness and taking action to address under performance or practice issues should they arise.

Provide support to the team through supervisions, appraisals, case reviews and observations

Directly deliver a range of interventions predominantly through a home visiting service, including welfare benefits advice, support with mobility, social isolation and financial issues


Successful candidates will possess the following:
Qualified Social Worker
Experience of leading / managing a team in a social care setting
Experience of community based social care services
Experience of service delivery with older people and / or disability services.
Experience of managing employee relations, including managing absence, disciplinary, grievances, sickness and redundancies
Hold a current driving licence
