Senior Support Worker - Bristol Community Autism Service

There is an exciting opportunity to join our community support service which covers Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
We are seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team
Our client supports people on the autism spectrum with mental health needs who live in their own home or the family home to develop skills to promote their health and wellbeing, inclusion in the local community and greater independence.


All of our clients support is person centred, to enable those whom they support to live independently, gain employment, access education, join clubs or participate in activities within their local community.


As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide support and care to autistic adults enabling each individual to live independently, gain employment, access education, join clubs or participate in community activities. You will also support a small team of support workers and your line manager, to ensure the support we provide helps those whom we support to achieve the everyday breakthroughs they wish to achieve.
You will have a working knowledge of care standards and related legislation and have good report writing skills. You should be able to demonstrate how you are able to lead and motivate a team to reach agreed outcomes and uphold the values of the organisation.


You should have a relevant NVQ Level 3 (Senior Support Worker) qualification or be willing to work towards this within a given time period. You must be willing to work flexibly


The role includes:

  • " Supporting adults to achieve their goals.
  • " To guide, prompt, support individuals to undertake activities and learn new skills.
  • " To be part of a team around key individuals.
  • " Support with mentoring, development and supervision of team members.
  • " Assist with day-day management of running the service.
  • " To be aware of the role of the relevant care regulatory body (CQC) and the statutory standards required for the work setting.
  • " Assist to develop and maintain a responsive support service to people with autism.


Your hours will be 37 per week.


Your working pattern will be varied over a seven-day rota and could include sleep-ins and bank holidays.


A full driving licence and access to transport are essential.
