We have an exciting new job opportunity available in Chelmsford to join a reputable and respected company as a Shipping Administrator.
You will be reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the Operations team.
The Shipping Administrator acts as a support for the operations team. The position will require liaising with internal colleagues, external offices within the group on occasion and customers.
The duties for this position are:
Loading and creating job files in operational software
Check, reference and finalising shipping documents in existing files
Communicate effectively with internal colleagues and overseas offices to progress files accordingly
Transfer electronic bookings (EDIFACT) messages into relevant file format
Send documents or arrival information to customers
Assist with purchase cost matching
Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department
You will work with the operations team to continually improve processes and business performance
Supporting changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward and
work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly.
This position is offering a salary up to £25,000 and the working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am- 5.30pm with other benefits being offered including free parking.
