Job Description

Our client is a Global FinTech company based in Surrey.

Due to growth we are recruiting for Java Dev Lead to join their development team, these are permanent opportunities.

Applicants must have full Visa or Passport status to work permanently in the UK, the client does not offer sponsorship.

Responsibilities - Software Design and Development
o o Part of in-house development team, acting as Dev Lead on projects managing a small team of developers as and when required, plus working alongside other Dev Leads.
o o Mentoring and coaching junior developers to ensure best practice and quality.
o o Work collaboratively with our near-shore development partners to develop code and represent Company`s interests to ensure we get quality and value for money from deliverables provided by our partners.

o o Fully hands on and willing to undertake development work as part of a scrum team, providing support to other developers to ensure deliverables are delivered to time, quality and cost.
o o Support the Head of Technical Architecture and Security to agree the appropriate coding design and industry best practice and ensure they are successfully implemented within Company
o . This will include recommendations to re-factor existing code and/or introduction of new developer framework components.
o o Work closely with the respective Product Owners and Business Analysts to help define, refine and elaborate detailed technical requirements.
o o Being part of Agile Development project teams, possibly working on multiple projects in parallel.
o o Willing to work on our legacy code applications as well as new applications utilising modern technologies and frameworks.
o o Provide 3rd Line support to Global Support Team in case of production incidents that require developer support to analyse and resolve.

Skills and Experience (E)ssential,
o o Previous experience working for a software product, SaaS company or software development house (E)
o o Demonstrable hands-on experience working with both Front-End and Back-End technologies (E)
o o Front-End Technologies : o
o Javascript (E)
o o CSS (E)
o o AngularJS (1.x) or AngularTS (2+) (E)
o o Bootstrap (E)

o o Back-End Technologies
o o Java/J2EE (E)
o o Spring Framework (E)
o o JUnit and UI testing (E)
o Kanban/Agile (E) and tools such as Jira and Confluence (E)
o o Experience working as a Developer Lead managing an agile development team using Scrum and Kanban (E)
o o Experience working with remote/offshore Development Teams (E)

o o Excellent communicator, both written and verbal. Ability to articulate technical issues clearly and concisely with both on-shore and off-shore Development Teams (E)
o o Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively and the ability to present oneself in a calm, professional manner whilst under time and schedule pressure (E)
o o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (E)
o o Fluent English (E),
o o Team player. Comfortable working in a small company environment and "hands-on" in the sense of doing what needs to be done in a small organisation (E)
o Domain Expertise - Have knowledge in developing applications (full-stack) in one or more of the following areas (E): o Trade and/or Trade Finance;
o Industry expertise (Financial Institutions and/or Commodity Traders);
o FinTech expertise (Financial product or services companies)

o Awareness of typical security techniques employed by online, web-based service providers (E)
o Understanding of Web Application security and encryption techniques (E)
