Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor/Lawyer as a Court of Protection Deputy to join a successful solicitors, specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence. The organisation is based in South Nottingham. In return they are offering a competitive salary of £38,000 plus depending on experience.

THE ROLE
An experienced lawyer is needed to act as Deputy for our clients, working closely with the head of the Court of Protection Department. We only act for clients who have received compensation awards and lack capacity under the Mental Capacity Act. The nature of Deputy work involves helping brain injured and vulnerable clients and their families. As well as assisting with existing cases, the candidate will be expected to work independently to manage new clients requiring a Deputy.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Working with the litigation department during the course of the claim
Advising clients and families in relation to the Court application process and liaising with the OPG and Court, including preparing applications to the Court.
Annual deputy report preparation
Creating and managing client`s budgets
Calculating gratuitous care and other costs in relation to best interest and affordability
Day to day contact with clients and their individual lifestyle requirements, including home visits
General administration including paying invoices
Understanding when and how to instruct other professionals in relation to
" care,
" therapies,
" wills
" financial advice, taxation and investments,
" property sales, purchase and adaptation
" debt, welfare benefits and child support
" matrimonial and other family matters
" bereavement

HOURS
Monday - Friday
9.00am - 5.00pm (4.00pm finish on Fridays)

PACKAGE AND BENEFITS
- £38,000 + salary (depending on experience)
- Monday-Thursday 9.00- 5.00pm and 9.00-4:00pm Friday working hours
