Job Description

Health Education England - Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Location: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid Working)

Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £16.97 Rising to £19.89 after 12 weeks

Duration: Until May 2022 but up for review for extension

The post holder will be a key part of the Global Health Partnerships team, delivering high quality communications and engagement services for Health Education England.

The role:

  • Developing communications and engagement plans for specific projects/campaigns and managing their effective implementation.
  • Develop and manage a stakeholder engagement strategy.
  • Maintaining excellent contacts and relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Development of a Communications strategy.
  • Ensuring relevant partners and interested parties are kept aware of the work of the Allied Health Professionals International Recruitment Team within the Directorate of Global Health Partnerships
  • Liaise with appropriate functions within Health Education England and wider NHS.
  • Deliver high quality communications and engagement advice and practical support to staff across the Directorate.
  • Provide high quality written materials for a range of publications and audiences.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of drafting and editing copy for briefings and for a range of publications from corporate documents to public information leaflets, newsletters, press releases and digital media.
  • Able to manage own workload and make informed decisions in the absence of required information
  • Working to tight deadlines
  • The ability to identify the target audience for any given communication
  • The ability to deal with complex, sensitive and/or contentious information and negotiate with key stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues.
  • The ability to work with others and develop strong collaborate networks across a variety of stakeholders including both NHS and non-NHS organisations.
  • Strong Interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to interpret and represent material for expert and lay audiences including trainees, education providers, patients and the public.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage complex events and programmes of work simultaneously.
  • Ability to think and plan operationally and strategically working to provide dynamic and innovative stakeholder networking and engagement strategies and opportunities.
  • Able to problem solve.
  • Advanced I.T. and keyboard skills.
  • Attention to details
  • Able to work effectively with and engage all levels of staff, external agencies and the general public.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Timely and accurate information analysis and reporting, with information in a suitable format for the relevant audience.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level in Public Relations / Journalism / Marketing or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Educated to Post-graduate degree level in relevant e.g. Management
  • Studies subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
  • Knowledge of project principles, techniques and tools, such as Prince Foundation and Microsoft Project.
