A market leading FMCG manufacturer, supplying ` The Big 4` and other major retailers throughout the UK are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to work within a small team playing a pivotal role in the future success of the manufacturing site.

You would be responsible for demand management to meet customer service requirements with the coordination of factored and manufactured products. This incorporates the management of the Supply base, suppliers and material at optimum cost and delivery levels.

Key Responsibilities - purchasing and supply chain:
" To order materials in accordance with either forecast or customer demand from selected vendors conforming to the cost, quality and delivery requirements.
" To maintain the lead-times, minimum order quantities, economic order quantities within the Material Requirements Planning system, (MRP).
" Overall responsibility for the expediting position. Guide and develop the roll to optimise the supplier's performance in meeting the timely demands of the business.
" Develop targets and strategy on on-going cost improvements - specifically, negotiate yearly price downs in line with volume related purchases, also the introduction of Purchasing best practise and techniques for annual contract tendering on their own brand items.
" Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
" Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers
" Responsible for maintaining stocks of consumable goods
" Responsible for competitive levels of stock turns

Key Responsibilities - Planning:
" Ensure the smooth, accurate and regular running of MPS and MRP
" Ensure base forecast is reviewed/accurate and promotion activity is included by Sales dept
" Planning of production ensuring customer orders are achieved on time in full
" To ensure MRP/NAV system is maintained with accurate process/cycle times, crew sizes, shift patterns and work centres etc.
" Monitor and improve number of planned changeovers, exploiting the best batch sizes and routes for products made
" Record and publish production targets and actuals for throughput and efficiencies
" Analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimise customer service.
" Generation of Budget data for labour and materials

This is a Senior Manager position and we are looking for someone with a proven record of working to such a high level. FMCG experience is essential.
