Job Description

We are looking for support workers to help people confronting deafness and hearing loss and to live the life they choose. You`ll be enabling them to take control of their lives and remove the barriers in their way.

Role and responsibilities

You`ll be working with a lively, friendly group of eight people who live together in a residential home.
They are all very different and have a broad range of interests, which include everything from planes to football, attending cultural events, being involved in the local community, swimming , cycling or shopping. Independence, privacy, family and friends are all things that are important to the people you`ll be supporting. You`ll be helping the service users communicate with others more fully, go to the bank, or plan their holidays (last year they went to a mini cruise), you`ll be helping them get the most out of life.

You will need to be creative, patient and persistent to involve the in things and help the clients achieve they`re goals. A sense of humour and fun is a big plus!

You`ll need to have 6 months of experience working with vulnerable people, or in the care sector. You will need to be eager to learn. As this will develop into a permanent position we are looking for people who are after full time work.
