Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage a well established and person centred housing service as a Crisis Support Worker.

BS Social Care is one of the UKs leading specialist recruitment agencies, specialising in permanent and temporary recruitment. We are working with one of our customers who is an established provider supporting adults with mental health issues.


Ideally you will have relevant experience in Mental Health and crisis intervention and de-escaltion. You will be emotionally resilient and be able to cope with huge influxes of service users at once, as well as manage telephone crisis's and admin. IT Literacy is essential. You will be collected in the face of frontline crisis, suicide intervention and severe mental health issues. You will also have an understanding of schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and autism. The ideal candidate will understand the physical and challenging - yet rewarding - aspect of this crucial role.

Your day to day role will consist of de-escalating persons in crisis, either in person, self-referrals or over the phone. You will liaise with local authorities and work well under pressure. You will become part of a high-performing team and help to manage the short stay of service users in order to better prepare them for the challenges of day-to-day life. You will provide support and advice to people in severe crisis, with a range of personal reasons.

This is a crucial and hectic service, which has high cultural expectations from its hard-working staff. You will have the opportunity work on call and although weekend and evening work is the busiest, be able to work on a 10-6 / 12-8 / 2-10 shift pattern.
