Job Description

We are seeking support workers for a safe, reliable and stable social care provider in the Harrogate area. Our client have four pathways for Adults with Learning Disabilities, Young Peoples Residential Service, Mental Health, Foster Care and Family Services.

The Role
You will support people who have mental health diagnosis, some paired with learning disabilities. This will enable them to lead a fulfilling and satisfying life as much as they possibly can. A key purpose in your role is working to understand the person you are supporting. You will also provide practical and emotional care enabling that individual to lead as ordinary life as they can achieve.

This service is a flat project, each service user has their own flat and there is also a staff flat. The early shift would be 8am -3.30pm and the late shift would be 2.30pm - 10pm which includes a sleep in which is paid at £7.83 per hour and a sleep will be 10 hours. You will be expected to do on average 2 sleeps per week.

Experience as a Support Worker within any care environment is essential, working with mental diagnosis is desirable and you will be keen to develop your skills further. You will have a empathetic approach to people with mental health illness and also have the ability to think outside the box and think of different ways to get the individuals to communicate and open up. You will be able to use your own initiative.
