Are you an experienced support worker looking for a new and exciting challenge? Do you live in Wakefield or the surrounding areas? If so please read on....

You will be working within a 6 bedded service for adults with Learning Disabilities. You will be responsible for providing support to the service users, at times 1:1 support may be required as well as physical intervention training.

Your duties will include emotional and physical support, assisting with meal times, personal care and general tasks. You will be required to do occasional trips in to the community and it would be desired if you are trained to administer medication.

To apply for the position you will need at least 6 months recent experience dealing with adults with Learning Difficulties/Autism and a qualification such as an NVQ, or a minimum of 1 year relevant experience without a qualification. It is essential that you have experience working within the autistic and learning disabilities spectrum, and you will also complete shadow shifts on your first shifts.

You will also be DBS checked and able to provide references for the last 2 years, with no gaps in employment.

The pay rate is a generous £8.25 to £8.50, with holiday pay to accrue.
