Job Description

Are you interested in a career in Social Care? Whether you have years of experience or want to get your foot in the door, we have great opportunities for you in the Knaresborough area at a residential home owned by a fantastic not-for-profit local care provider.

They are looking for support workers to work alongside a highly skilled staff team to provide support to adults with complex learning disabilities and improve their quality of life.

As a Support Worker, you would work under the direction of the senior support team to ensure that the adults under your care are receiving the highest quality assistance in order for them to live happy and healthy lives.

Your main aim as a support worker is to treat all residents with respect and dignity. Some of the adults in the home have very complex learning disabilities, meaning this is a hands on care role that will require you to undertake personal care training. This company will provide 100% of your training, at no cost to you, that will provide you with a variety of key care skills that will kick-start your career in healthcare. So, if you`re looking for an organisation who`ll help you to take your first step in a new job and support you the rest of the way, look no further.

Additionally, you will be expected on occasion to take the residents out of the home and into the community to do activities such as horse-riding and swimming, so candidates who enjoy these activities are encouraged to apply!

Once you begin working as a support worker, you will be given opportunities to pursue further training and development - this could be studying for a NVQ or take on more of a senior post - so if you really want to start a long term career, this is the role for you.

We currently have part time & full time hours available at this home, so don`t delay in applying. The starting pay rate is £8.45 per hour with opportunities to earn more if you take on a position of leadership.

The full list of employment benefits you will receive working for this not-for-profit organisation will include; complete training in a variety of areas (learning disabilities, epilepsy, mobility) Annual leave entitlement over the statutory average, an employee support system to look after your well being, childcare support, cycle to work scheme and a generous pension scheme.

Apply today if you are ready to take the next step in working with learning disabilities!

If you feel this role may not be exactly the right fit for you, call Ella Sandoval on 01274 393050 to discuss in further detail and see what else we may have available in your local area.
