Job Description

New opportunity for a children and young people support worker.

My client aims are to prepare, equip and support all our children and young people (16+ male and female) in acquiring the necessary skills to live independently. This is achieved through direct one to one support work from experienced, qualified support workers. All our units are staffed 24/7 and all support workers, night or day, work towards the same goal by supporting our client group as well as keeping them safe and healthy. They have 11 units that support a range of placements including emergency placements and planned.

An established residential home looking for support workers in children and young people. This service is supporting service users with emotional behavioural difficulties, gang / county lines, criminal behaviour so need strong people that are passionate and have experience of this type of challenging behaviour. Service users may be on probation or left home and need supporting.

As a support worker, you will be responsible for promoting the service user`s independence. You will be taking service users out and dealing with petty cash. Cooking with the service users is also part of the role. As the service users have EBD, patience is key in this role. Planning activities and creating a good relationship with the service user is key.

The ideal candidate will be firm but fair. They will be confident in their approach and resilient. Being able to adapt to the service users is key. Being soft in your approach will also be required when need be.

The suitable candidate will have NVQ level 3 children and young people
2-year experience working with EBD.
Willing to work 40 hours per week
£10 per hour
