Job Description

Do you have experience of working with vulnerable people that have a range of support needs including physical disabilities, substance misuse and mental health problems? Are you looking for a challenging yet rewarding Support Work role in the surrey area? If the answer is yes to the above questions, then keep reading as this position is perfect for you!

My client is seeking a Support Worker to work in in the Walton-On Thames area to enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.

The ideal candidate will provide support to single people, couple and families. The type of support is predominantly homelessness prevention and tenancy sustainment and can be delivered to anyone at risk of homelessness irrespective of what type of accommodation they are living in or what kind of tenancy they may have.

Experience of working in a supported housing environment and some knowledge of homelessness, welfare benefits and housing advice would be helpful as would having use of a car because the role requires undertaking visits to customers' homes across the three referring boroughs. Spelthorne, Elmbridge and Runnymede borough councils.

To be successful, the right candidate must have the following essential experience and skills:

-Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience in the social care/charity sector
-Willing to travel (The role as stated above requires undertaking customer visits.)
-Approachable and open behaviour
-Team Player
-Good organisational and communication skills.
-Personal motivation and enthusiasm.
-Good written and verbal communication skills.
