Job Description

We are looking for support workers to help people confronting deafness and hearing loss and to live the life they choose. You'll be enabling them to take control of their lives and remove the barriers in their way.

Role and responsibilities

You'll be working with a lively, friendly group of eight people who live together in a residential home.
They are all very different and have a broad range of interests, which include everything from planes to football, attending cultural events, being involved in the local community, swimming , cycling or shopping. Independence, privacy, family and friends are all things that are important to the people you'll be supporting. You'll be helping the service users communicate with others more fully, go to the bank, or plan their holidays (last year they went to a mini cruise), you'll be helping them get the most out of life.

You will need to be creative, patient and persistent to involve the in things and help the clients achieve they're goals. A sense of humour and fun is a big plus!

You'll need to have 6 months of experience working with vulnerable people, or in the care sector. You will need to be eager to learn. As this will develop into a permanent position we are looking for people who are after full time work.
