** Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire **
** Permanent and full time or part time **
** £15,342 - £15,442 **
** 35 hours per week or part time hours which will be discussed further **
** Monday - Sunday; 3pm - 8pm (but these hours can be adjusted or be a job share **
** Funded hours for a male within a residential home **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Support Worker for an adult`s residential home within Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others. This role is for a gentleman within the home who has been given 35 funded hours to concentrate solely on him. This gentleman is peg fed and needs wheel chair assistance.

They are passionate about ensuring they give the best possible care to their residents and provide a happy environment for both the service users and staff.

About the job; you will work directly with one gentleman within a 6 bedded residential home caring for adults with learning disabilities, physical needs and other needs. This is a role funded for anything and everything that gives the best and dedicated care possible. Part of your role will be to be creative and adventurous by taking him places where wheelchairs are safe to be used to allow him to be as mentally active as possible. It will also include giving him foot spas or bathing him so he can feel pampered and fresh at all times. This role is all about you and the gentleman you are looking after.

About the ideal candidate; it is not essential that you have experience, but it is essential that you are empathetic and compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. If you do not hold any relevant qualifications, you will have to complete the care certificate and be willing to work towards gaining extra qualifications. The home is a friendly home, either fast paced or relaxed but always nice to be within. It will be ideal to be a driver with transportation. This organisation looks to upskill and progress their team and offer the opportunity to become Shift Leaders after probation if that is of interest.

In return; this role can either offer a full time and permanent role working 35 hours per week working either Monday - Sunday; 5 hours per day or you can job share allowing you to work only some days of the funded hours allowing another candidate to work the others. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on interview. The benefits include; £100 added to your salary for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
