Job Description
** Children and Young People Residential Support Worker **
** Melreth Nr.Royston, Hertfordshire**
** Children and Young People with learning difficulties; Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Brain Injury, Degenerative Disorders **
** £17,055 - £19,042 / £8.41ph - £9.39ph & Night Supplement Bonus up to £2730.00 per year **

** Waking nights, 8.45pm - 8.15am average of 39 hours per week on a 4 week rota pattern of 14 shifts **
BS Social Care are looking for a number of Night Support Workers to work within a children`s and young people`s residential home with severe learning difficulties and complex health needs within the Royston, Hertfordshire area.
About the employer; this employer is a privately ran organisation that provides each young person with the support to engage and progress at their own level within a living and learning environment that will help to achieve their full potential as they reach adulthood.
About the job; you will be working waking nights at the residential home with children and young people with severe and profound communication difficulties such as; Cerebral Palsy/Autism/Brain Injury and Degenerative Disorders. Providing personal care including; washing and changing, assisting the service users with getting ready for bed, promoting a healthy sleeping pattern, completing care plans, light housework duties and helping with morning care.
About the ideal candidate; ideally you would have a Health and Social Care Level 3 qualification, however you will be considered and trained on this qualification if you do not already have it. You will ideally have experience working waking nights at a residential home and or with children and young people with severe disabilities although not essential. It would also be beneficial to have a driving licence and transport. Our client is looking for candidates that have great communication and interpersonal skills, have high resilience and patience, be a robust and positive person, have a creative side and be a team player. You must be able to work nights, working an average of 39 hours per week on a 4 week rota pattern of 14 shifts.
In return, this organisation will offer a permanent full time contract paying £19,785 - £21,772 including a night supplement of £2,730 per year. The salary will be based on experience and qualifications. They will offer you a 4 week induction programme with additional training as you progress through your role. You will also need to complete the Children`s Workforce Development Council workbook in order to pass probation. You will also receive a night supplement bonus of £2,730, employee assistance programme, discount schemes, company pension, paid annual leave, life assurance, child care vouchers, free eye tests, occupational sick pay, training and development and refer a friend scheme worth £200.
