The role of the mental health support worker is supporting vulnerable young adults with mental health issues such as personality disorder and mild learning disabilities. Some young adults also have substance misuse and may self harm however this is not of the highest risks within the service. The day to day duties will be ensuring the service users take their medication, prompting only not administering, meal preparation and motivating and encouraging the young adults. The role is lone working within the home of the service user.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is robust and cheerful and can maintain them professional boundaries. Ideally you will have experience working with individuals with personality disorder and has experience working with marr sheets and blister packs. You need to be flexible to work on a rota basis and work 12 hour shifts, this role is on a temporary adhock basis to begin with, but the potential for a block booking.
We are looking for individuals who have a minimum of 1 years work experience within the social care sector, or 6 months with a relevant social care qualification. If you have a DBS on the update service that would be ideal!
