** Support Worker **
** Potters Bar, Hertfordshire **
** Permanent/15 hours per week plus 1 sleep in **
** £9ph **
** L; 2pm - 9.30pm - Sleep in; 9.30pm - 7am - E; 7am - 2.30pm **
** Alternate Tuesdays and Saturdays **
** Adults with mild Learning Disabilities and Epilepsy **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a part-time Support Worker (it is ideal that you can speak Polish but this is not essential) for an adult`s supported living service within Potters bar, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others.

About the role; you will be working with adults who have mild Learning Difficulties, Epilepsy and some challenging behaviour. Your typical day would include; hand over, supporting the service users with personal care on more of a prompting level and get ready for; day centre, shopping or activities. You will complete paper work and keep care plans up to date. You will assist with helping with meals and then to get ready for the evening. This role can be hands on due to the service users needing physical support with personal care and meals to ensure they have the best quality of life possible. You will complete 1 shift per week, broken down into a late shift of 2pm - 9.30pm followed by a sleep in shift of 9.30pm - 7am and then a early shift of 7am - 2.30pm. Totalling up to 15 working hours paid at £9ph and the sleep in at a sleep-in rate between £60.

About the ideal candidate; due to this shift pattern including lone working, you will hold experience within Learning Disabilities or supported living or residential of at least 6 months but ideally will be a minimum of 1 year. You will be empathetic and compassionate towards the residents of the home. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. This organisation looks to upskill and progress their team and offer the opportunity to become Shift Leaders after probation if that is of interest. Due to this service caring for service users that are Polish speaking, it is ideal but not essential that you`re Polish speaking or have and understanding of the Polish language.

In return; this role can either offer a permanent role working part-time hours including weekend work. The hours include; 1 shift per week, broken down into a late shift of 2pm - 9.30pm followed by a sleep in shift of 9.30pm - 7am and then an early shift of 7am - 2.30pm. Totalling up to 15 working hours paid at £9ph and the sleep in at a sleep-in rate between £60. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on interview. The benefits include; £100 added to your salary for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
