** Night Support Worker **
** St Albans, Hertfordshire **
** Permanent and part time **
** £6,988 **
** 1 sleep in per week **
** 2pm-10:30pm & 7am-11am working / 10:30pm-7am sleep **
** Adults learning difficulties / complex health needs / challenging behaviour / Autism / Epilepsy **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Night Support Worker for an adult`s supported living service within St Albans, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others.

About the role; this role will be supporting service users with day to day activities to allow independence. You will be working with adults of mixed sex who have moderate to severe Learning Difficulties, Autism, complex health needs and Epilepsy however challenging behaviour due to being unable to express feelings. Your typical day would include; hand over, supporting the service users get up washed, dressed and get ready for day ahead, helping with shopping, appointments or activities. You will complete paper work and keep care plans up to date. You will be a Key Worker, or a Link Worker so expect to be responsible for a particular service user including arranging their activities/medication and have everything then need to receive the best possible care. You will assist in providing personal and helping with dinner, then get ready for the evening.

About the ideal candidate; it is not essential that you have experience, but it is essential that you are empathetic and compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. Ideally you will hold a Level 1 or Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification, but you will have to complete the care certificate and be willing to work towards gaining extra qualifications. The home is a friendly home, either fast paced or relaxed but always nice to be within. It will be ideal to be a driver with transportation. This organisation looks to upskill and progress their team and offer the opportunity to become Shift Leaders after probation if that is of interest.

In return; this role can either offer a part time and permanent role working 1 sleep in per week; 2pm-11am (2pm-10:30pm & 7am-11am working) paying £6,988. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on interview. The benefits include; £100 added to your salary for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
