Job Description

** Waking Night`s Support Worker **
** £8.43 per hour **
** Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire **
** 9:15pm - 7:15am **
** Adults with Epilepsy / Cerebral Palsy / Communication Problems including non-verbal / Autism Spectrum **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for several Night Support Worker`s for an adult`s residential home within Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others.

About the role; this role will require manual handling, working with wheelchairs and hoisting, meaning that you will not be afraid to deliver physical care. There is x1 waking night staff on per shift and you will go through a list of cleaning jobs such as deep cleaning that can only be done while the home is quiet. Such as; ironing, tidying up and other jobs that will not wake the service user`s, but you will not be run off your feet. You will be checking on the services users regularly, more checks will be for service users with epilepsy. You will also help a service user go to the toilet at least once through the night when needed.

About the ideal candidate; it is not essential that you have experience, but it is essential that you empathise and are compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. If you do not hold any relevant qualifications, you will have to complete the care certificate and be willing to work towards gaining extra qualifications. The home is a friendly home, either fast paced or relaxed but always nice to be within. It will be ideal to be a driver with transportation. This organisation looks to upskill and progress their team and offer the opportunity to become Shift Leaders after probation if that is of interest.

In return; this role can be either be a part or full-time permanent role working waking night shifts including weekend work paying £8.43 per hour. You will work waking night shifts; 9:15pm - 7:15am. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on application. The benefits include; £100 added to your salary for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
