We have partnered with an existing client who are looking for a part time Tax Assistant to join their growing tax team. This will be a seasonal role with varying hours depending on peaks throughout the year. Working pattern is very much negotiable and there is great flexibility on offer with this position.
Candidates who are looking to commute to the firm's Taunton office, or work partly or fully on a remote basis will be considered!
Within this role you will be mainly undertaking reviews of tax returns prepared by more junior members of staff. The focus will be on checking the return is technically correct, adding value by identifying any potential planning opportunities not already identified, and ensuring the communication of the client's position to them is appropriate. Other tasks will include preparation of tax returns at a suitable level where required, for review by a manager/partner, along with possible ad-hoc tax advisory work and other tasks dependant on the applicant's experience.
The successful candidate will have the following essential experience, skills and attributes:
" Personal Tax experience
" AAT/ATT or ICAEW/ACCA/CTA qualified
" Strong track record of Tax CPD and high level of current legislation knowledge
" Excellent IT skills and software capability
You may also have the following desirable experience, skills and attributes:
" Positive Team player with a "Can do" attitude
" Detail oriented and conscientious
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills
