Job Title: Technical Compliance Officer

Location: Sherburn In Elmet

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent Contract

Hours of work: Monday to Friday - 08:00am - 5:00pm

About the Role:

As a Technical Compliance Officer, you will provide support to the Technical Management team and assist in the day to day running of site compliance, ensuring that standards are maintained in line with external audit requirements. You will be required to assist in the completion of site-based audits at a set frequency against 3rd Party Standards, GMP and Fabrication, Hygiene and documentation.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure that the function of the factory and employees are operating in line with Health and Safety requirements and food safety requirements.
• To provide assistance to the Technical Compliance Manager in ensuring that all internal audits (BRC, BMPA, and appropriate Retailer Codes of Practices) are completed as per the internal audit schedules for the site.
• Host GTC audits and provide all information requested where directed by the Technical Compliance Manager.
• To assist the Technical Compliance Manager in ensuring that any non-conformance's raised during the internal audits are completed and signed off by the appropriate person within the agreed timescales.
• To provide assistance, as directed by the Technical Compliance Manager for any 3rd Party or Retailer visits / audits that take place on site.
• To assist the Technical Compliance Manager in the collation of all non-conformance's that are raised through 3rd Party and Retailer audits / visits into a system to ensure that actions are completed, and information can be trended to highlight out areas of improvement.
• To be a member of any working party that is generated by the Technical Manager to resolve any root causes for trends that have been highlighted through the review of non-conformance's.
• To assist in the completion of GMP, Fabrication, Hygiene, Documentation, CCP, Pest Control, etc. internal audits on site. This may involve working nights.
• To be the nominated site Technical representative at Retailer Routine Taste / Quality Panels for at least 1 retailer.
• Maintain up to date calibration of all key equipment for site and ensure external calibration is organised in a timely manner by liaising with relevant departmental managers.
• Ensure all metal detectable equipment is metal detected and relevant records maintained for auditing purposes.
• Carry out weekly staff facility checks for nuts and sesame seeds and maintain records for auditing and due diligence.
• To manage the traceability system for the site and complete any traceability study that is requested by customers, sister sites, 3rd Parties or through the routine schedule to the required standard and required timescales. Where any issues are highlighted through these traceability studies to co-ordinate with the appropriate area manager / supervisors to drive improvements and establish root cause
• To provide a flexible resource to the Technical Compliance Manager for any other reasonable duties.

• Level 2 (or above) HACCP Qualification
• Level 3 (or above Food Hygiene Qualification
