Our client is a highly successful Managed Service Provider we are looking for experienced Technical Engineers that have their experience weighted towards 'build out' who can hit the ground running who enjoy creating something from scratch, are good at taking responsibility for figuring out what needs to be done and planning the steps to be followed, delivering and documenting the end result following testing. Does this sound like you?
Technical Engineer role requirements:-
These roles in effect blend three things:
1. Delivering critical components of customer build projects
2. An element of maintaining and developing our core infrastructure
3. An element of providing 'Buck Stops' escalation for critical issues (over and above the service desk escalation structure in place).
We are particularly interested in Engineers with Managed Services Provider ( MSP) experience, used to working across multiple different customer types longer-term projects often found in those. This is a key driver for the Company.
Typical Company customers are SMEs in Legal, Recruitment, Property and Financial sectors - service companies that rely on robust IT to deliver value to their customers. Typically they range from 50 to 500 users over several sites.
We require engineers who are happy to follow and indeed help develop and improve standard processes, but equally are skilled and confident enough to find creative ways around solutions that enable them to deliver customer results faster, and more cost effectively. To do this, typically a skilled technical engineer will use their existing core platforms to customise and create robust customer environments that the implementation teams can rollout on site.
Engineers to have a broad skill set covering everything from old school 'building servers' through, Citrix, VMWare and HyperV, Exchange, and SQL into newer public, private and Hybrid cloud solutions incorporating O365, Azure, Sharepoint etc. More generally you must understand infrastructure design, clustering and fault tolerance. We appreciate that not every engineer can be expected to know everything. Ideal would be a good basic understanding of all of the above, with a specialism in one or two areas.
Whilst we are particularly interested in the more forward looking cloud technologies - Azure, Azure stack, O365 components, Unified Comms with Skype for Business etc, we do still interested in skills to maintain onprem infrastructure, so more established skills like Windows Server, Citrix, VMWare are also important
We are looking to build a balance of skills and aptitude in the following key areas:
