Technical Manager

Brook Street are working with a well-established Scottish Dairy production company to find them a Technical Manager to support the Operational Lead with the management and development of their systems, procedures and policies. They would be expected to handle the daily technical aspects of the company, covering an expanding retail and middle ground business with a wide range of dairy products.

The right candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Degree in Food Science / Manufacturing
• Experience working in a technical / quality role within dairy or food related industry either in operations, quality or laboratory disciplines
• Knowledge of BRC standards and food safety
• HACCP4
• Experience in Quality System Auditing and Management
• Ability to develop and lead a diverse team
• Good manufacturing practice knowledge

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Support in the management and development of the Quality Management Systems, procedures and policies, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Responsible for maintaining the site internal audit system including resolution of corrective actions
• Provide Technical expertise and support before, during and after all external audits.
• Conduct Quality KPI and Quality Review meetings
• Coordinating, interpreting and communicating laboratory results to the site management team
• Support the site in maintaining BRC accreditation
• Ensure customer standards (e.g. TFMS) are met
• Responsible for overseeing the laboratory and making sure the department is cost effective, and ensuring all tests are being carried out to the requirements of the business
• Manage supplier approval system and communication with retailers.
