Job Description
Job title: Technical Support Engineer, Tier 2
Hours: 40 no shift
Location: Worcestershire
My client is an innovative, internationally successful award-winning, software development company specialising in solutions for the Microsoft platform and due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting for a Tier 2 Technical Support Engineer. The business have a fantastic reputation for developing their staff and creating a progressive and dynamic work environment.
Technical Support Engineer responsibilities:
" Contacting customers via phone or email to provide software technical support on bespoke software with specific emphasis on iSeries and Linux
" Provide front line support on software issues and from basic to complex
" Gathering information on technical issues, understanding the severity and resolving issues in a timely manner
" Constant contact with clients and customers updating them on when problems are resolved
Technical Support Engineer desired Skills and Experience:
" Must have at least 5 years' proven success supporting Microsoft networks
" Must have working knowledge with iSeries and Linux
" Must have BS or BA degree in a computer related field preferred. Strong and stable work experience can replace the education requirement
" Must possess a solid track record of good judgment and decision-making in technical positions with significant responsibility
