Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a 1st Line Helpdesk Support Advisor for a well-established software services company. Our client has a fantastic approach to flexible working offering hybrid working with only two days at the Birchwood, Warrington office (Tues & Weds)
Salary range: £25,000+ (dependant on experience)
Free onsite parking

The post holder will respond to customer requests for assistance in the resolution of customer queries. This involves supporting customers and colleagues in the technical set up and configuration of the various software in current use, advising them on best practice, and provide a technical/software consultancy service as and when required

" To take and respond to calls from customers, to log each call, and respond utilizing the Help Desk logging system providing technical/ software support.
" To work as part of the Help Desk team
" To gain a full understanding of all the technical/software aspects of the system databases and adapt easily to changes during periods of system development.
" To regularly review the technical/software functionality of the system databases and to report on improvements that may be achieved.
" To be able to use Microsoft applications in conjunction with the system databases
" To install upgrades with or without the assistance of outside contractors
" To document changes to the system databases
" To ensure system back-ups are performed in accordance with timescales agreed with the Office Manager
" To undertake those tasks required to support the corporate infrastructure
" Any other tasks assigned from time to time by your manager

Required Skills and Attributes
" Demonstrate time management skills
" Ability to be part of a multi-skilled team
" Demonstrate strong IT and systems knowledge
" Demonstrate a knowledge of Windows and Unix applications
" Must have an excellent telephone manner
" Flexibility in responding to changing demands
" Demonstrate good level of PC keyboard/mouse skills
" Experience within an IT role preferable, especially a support position
" Formal Qualifications:
Relevant industry desired but not essential

Desirable skills add attributes
" Experience with Unix applications
" Experience with SQL
