Job Description

Home based with some travel to Reading office around twice per month

We are recruiting a full time Technical Support IT Analyst to join a thriving and busy IT Department.


The Technical Support Analyst will support Company in delivering outstanding, sustainable education solutions by providing expert support for all IT /infrastructure / applications issues. Making good use of proactive monitoring, maintenance and repair to maximise the uptime of the systems, infrastructure, applications and services. Look for opportunities and develop initiatives to further improve the IT systems, applications and infrastructure. Work on specific projects to support application development within the Azure Dev Ops framework. Be the escalation point for the service desk for technical issues of a Tier 2/3 type responding in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)for resolution.

The Technical Support Analyst will be called upon to support staff based in other Company locations and home workers.

Technical Support Analyst Skill Set

  • In the Azure environment.
    • Create Web applications with deployment slots utilising system identities for controlled access to resources. Connecting Web apps to azure networks to ensure connectivity with required resources. Control access to the web app using the Networking tool kit.
    • Create Front Door and Web Application Firewalls with diagnostic workspace logging and secured custom domains.
    • Create and Configure Function Apps, Kubernetes Service, Storage Accounts, Container Instances, Application Insights, Cognitive Search and SignalR.
    • Create and configure a Virtual Machine (VM), install and configure the operating system (OS) and setup server for its primary purpose e.g., Domain Controller (DC), File server, Internet Information Server (IIS).
    • Create SQL Server or SQL instances and controlling access with system identities and Active Directory Groups.
    • Create virtual networks (vNet) with Network Security Groups (NSG) and tunnels or peering.
    • Create VPN tunnels between Azure networks or back to on-prem equipment.
  • Stakeholders and responsibilities
    • Upon request of build, investigate requirement and provide a response on behalf of the team showing
      • How long it will take to complete the work.
      • The cost of the work.
      • The cost of Azure spend month on month for product.
      • Roles and responsibilities for go live.
    • Ability to investigate Microsoft online documentation and training material to learn about Azure elements not currently in your / our skill set.
    • Technical documentation for work completed.
